Rebecca “Becky” (Hale) Szanto, 66

Rebecca “Becky” (Hale) Szanto, 66, of Celina, made her journey to God on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at home surrounded by family and friends.

Becky was born in Lima, on March 22, 1948, to the late Harry and Bertie Hale.  She graduated from Lima Central Catholic in 1966.  Becky married her best friend and the love her life, John A. Szanto II on Sept. 8, 1979.

She enjoyed crafts, cooking and spoiling those around her, was a beloved member of the community with an outgoing personality and had an affinity for all animals and people.  Becky was a strong woman who loved life, lived each day to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Becky is survived by her husband,  John A. Szanto II of Celina; stepsons John (Rebecca) Szanto III of Huber Heights and Richard (Robin) Szanto of Chandler, Ariz.; sister Kathy Hubbard of Lima; brothers Gary (Vicki) Hale of St. Marys; Donald Hale of Lima and John Hale of Dayton; five grandchildren, Makenzie (Matthan) Bosse, John IV, Olivia, Savannah and Max; one great-grandchild, Abigail Bosse; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. 

Becky was preceded in death by her infant brother, infant son, and her brother-in-law, David Hubbard.

Arrangements are entrusted to Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys.
