Raymond Le Roy Fowler Sr., 84, died at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at his residence.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1929, in Ohio City, to Doyt and Goldie (Wheeler) Fowler.
On Jan. 15, 1949, he married his wife of 65 years, Mary Dunn, who survives.
Other survivors include three sons, William "Bill" (Joyce) Fowler of Waynesfield, Ray (Vicky) Fowler of Waynesfield, Sam (Nora) Fowler of Lima, two daughters, Barb Hensley of Waynesfield and Jo-Ann Fowler of Lima, a brother, Fred (Tina) Fowler of Florida, four sisters, Madline Sneary of Lakeview, Pauline Thrower of Arizona, Jane Bower of Lima, Kathy Hennsley of Lima, 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne Fowler and two brothers, Donnald and Bob Fowler.
Ray had been a truck driver for Schwemer Trucking for over 27 years, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion, Post 0888.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, participate in tractor pulls and he loved horses.
He was a member of Good Sam camping club.
A Celebration of Life service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Armentrout Funeral Home in Waynesfield, the Rev. Pam Spencer, officiant.
Military honors will follow the services.
A gathering of friends and family will begin at noon until the time of the services on Monday.
