Raymond A. Heitman, 89

Raymond A. Heitman, 89, of 10701 State Route 119, Anna, died at 8:12 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney, following a brief illness.

He was born on Sept. 18, 1924, in Minster, to Albert and Margaret (Zircher) Heitman. They preceeded him in death.

He was married on April 25,1945, to Betty Hamp, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2011.

He is survived by his children, Pat (Jim) Albers of Minster, Vickie (Jack) Albers of Celina, Kathy (Keith) Coy of Sidney, Becky Dirksen of Greenville, Steve (Teri) Heitman of Wapakoneta; Mike (JoAnn) Heitman of Anna; Doug (Becky) Hietman of Houston and Tim (Melissa) Heitman of Anna, 25 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, a brother, Roman (Shirley) Heitman of Anna and a sister, Rose (Ken) Mills of Dayton.

He was preceded in death by three siblings.

Ray was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in McCartyville, a veteran of World War II and retired from farming and Goodyear Tire in St. Marys in 1987.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church, the Rev. James Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church.

Arrangements are being made by Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
