Ray D. High, 88, of Mendon, died on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at his residence.

He was born on Feb. 15, 1924, in Union Township, to Ray R. and Mamie Ruth (Spicer) High, and they preceded him in death.

On June 19, 1960, he married Glenda Colwell, and she survives.

He is also survived by a son, Larry Joe (Julie) High of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Debra Lee Conway of Fort Wayne and Renee (Richard) Flanary of Celina; two brothers; his mother-in-law; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson; a son-in-law; a sister.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at New Start Church of God, 7729 U.S. Route 127, Celina, with the Rev. John Mobley officiating.

Burial will be held in Mercer Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
