Paul F. Ahlers, 80, of Dogwood Drive, Fort Loramie, died at 10:20 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2011, at his residence.

He was born on April 25, 1931, in Frenchtown, to Frank L. and Gertrude (Eilerman) Ahlers, and they preceded him in death.

On Aug. 26, 1953, he married Eileen M. Hilgefort, and she survives him.

He is also survived by his four children, Douglas (Rebecca) Ahlers of Versailles, Mark Ahlers of Altamonte Springs, Fla., Randal (Jolene) Ahlers of Fort Loramie and Amy (James) Albers of Fort Loramie; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, with the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
