Paul B. Brown, 80, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Auglaize Acres.
He was born on Feb. 13, 1933, in Auglaize County, the son of Roy J. and Alodia (Oen) Brown, who preceded him in death.
On June 14, 1961, he married Ruth E. Poeppelman, and she survives.
Other survivors include, six children, Mark Brown, Wapakoneta, Linus (Vonda) Brown, Anna, Lois (Jerry) Davis, Barbara Brown, Douglas Brown, Jerome Brown, all of Wapakoneta; two grandchildren, Jacob and Caleb Davis; 12 siblings, Anthony (Dorothy) Brown, St. Marys, Francis (Ruth) Brown, Wapakoneta, Fr. Harold Brown, Bellevue, Alvin Brown, New Bremen, Mary Yahl, Botkins, Ann Leinweber, New Bremen, Agnes (Cletus) Schmerge, LaSalle, Colo.; Fr. Joseph Brown, Carthagena, John (Pamela) Brown, Celina, David (Jeannette) Brown, St. Marys, Dr. Virgil (Mary Ellen) Brown, Wapakoneta and Theresa (Richard) Ramga, Wapakoneta.
He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Ruth Brown, and two brothers-in-law, William Yahl and Richard Leinweber.
Paul retired as a mechanic from Koenig Equipment, Botkins, after well over 40 years of service. He had also worked at the DetjenGrain Co., Moulton. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, and its Holy Name Society. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Alaska. His hobbies included gardening, mowing, tinkering and caring for others before himself.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rev. Harold Brown, officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta VFW #8445.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, State Route 501, Wapakoneta.
