Park To Host Annual Festival
MINSTER — A local state park is putting the finishing touches on an annual festival.
Lake Loramie State Park will host its annual Fall Harvest Festival Sept. 14-16. Park Manager Brian Miller said the event typically draws a large crowd.
“There are just so many great offerings,” Miller told The Evening Leader. “It’s crazy down there — we will pack the campground and do overflow at some of our beach areas. We get a lot of campers for it.”
The event opens at 4 p.m. Sept. 14, when a slew of stands open. At 7 p.m., Renegade takes the stage. Sept. 15 features a packed slate of activities ranging from craft booths to puppet shows and wood carving demonstrations. The Wannabies take the stage at 7:30 p.m. that night. The next day, Sept. 16, features a petting zoo, performances by the Fort Loramie and Minster marching bands as well as Top Shelf taking the stage at 1 p.m.
“There’s a large craft show,” Miller said. “It’s a free event, and there are so many different things for folks to see.”
In anticipation of the large crowds, a shuttle will ferry visitors from remote parking lots to the festival. The event will be followed by a Halloween Camp-out in October that serves as the unofficial end of the camping season.
“It’s been a very good season here,” Miller said of the park’s attendance. “I am looking forward to a busy, safe weekend for the festival.”
