Othmar J. Homan, 83, of 1731 Rolfes Road, Maria Stein, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at his home.

He was born on Feb. 24, 1929, in Maria Stein, to Lawrence and Mary (Schulte) Homan, and they preceded him in death.

On May 16, 1953, in Cassella, he married Rita A. Tumbusch, and she preceded him in death on June 18, 2004. 

He is survived by his children, Mike (Nancy) Homan of Maria Stein, Bill Homan of Maria Stein, Cindy (Mark) Bruns of Fort Recovery and Patsy (Rob) Schwieterman of St. Henry; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters; six brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by a brother; a sister; six brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Maria Stein, with the Rev. Gene Schnipke officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home Minster. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the State of the Heart Hospice.
