Norman R. Thiebeau, 73

Norman R. Thiebeau, 73, of 14198 Glynwood-New Knoxville Road in St. Marys died at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at St. Marys Living Center.

He was born on Nov. 13, 1939 in Versailles to Robert and Druscilla (Berger) Thiebeau.

On Nov. 27, 1959, in Tazwell, Tenn., he married Dorothy Rhodes, who died July 28, 2008.

He is survived by a son Richard (Mindy) Thieubeau  of St. Marys, and three grandchildren, Shannon, Casey and Spencer Thiebeau, as well as two sisters, Connie Highley of Del Rio, Texas; and Darlene Kruse of Vandalia.

He was preceded in death by parents Robert and Druscilla Thiebeau, wife Dorothy Thieubeau, and infant son Delbert Thiebeau. He was a 1957 graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and served aboard the USS Saratoga.

He retired from the Parker-Hannifin Corp. in St. Marys, where he worked as a set-up technician. He was a member of the St. Marys Missionary Baptist Church.

His favorite pastimes included fishing and gardening.

Funeral services are scheduled to begin 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Marys Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Perry Mason and the Rev. Alva Joe Daniel will co-officiate the services.  Burial, with full graveside military honors, will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High Street Chapel, in St. Marys.
