Nellie C. House, 92

Nellie C. House, 92, of 11810 Mallard Lane, St. Marys, died at 12:15 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1920, in Dayton, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Truebenbach) Miller.

She married Roy C. House on Nov. 5, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2003.

She is survived by her two children, Janet (David) Shoup of Tipp City and David (Janie) House of Elkton, Ore.; by a son-in-law, Tom  Foster of Harrod; by seven grandchildren, Mark Shoup, Daniel Shoup, Muir House, Julie House-Rhoda, Brittony Wright, Leslie Foster and Joshua Foster; by six great-grandchildren.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter Susan Foster; her siblings, Esther McDorman, Cleora Fogel, Edna March and George Miller.

Nellie was a 1938 graduate of Dayton Fairmont High School. She had formerly belonged to the Brandt United Methodist Church and she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in St. Marys. Family was very important to Nellie, and she enjoyed reading and gardening. She was a homemaker and volunteered for many organizations over the years, most recently at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.

Funeral rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Meyer Community Chapel on the campus of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, 11230 State Route 364, St. Marys, the Rev. Jon Kraner and Rev. Vince Lavieri, officiants.

Private family burial rites will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at Otterbein St. Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to either Grand Lake Hospice or Otterbein St. Marys Benevolent Fund.
