Nancy L. Bailey, 72, of Wapakoneta, died at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Wapakoneta Manor, where she had resided for six years.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1939, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Harold J. and Ruth E. McClintock Seitz, and they preceded her in death.
On July 21, 1962, she married Marion F. Bailey, and he preceded her in death on April 19, 2004.
She is survived by a son, John F. Bailey of Wapakoneta; a grandson, Gavin Michael Bailey of Wapakoneta.
She was a 1956 graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta and a graduate of Bowling Green State University, majoring in education. She earned her master’s degree from Wright State University. She taught second grade for 32 years at West School in St. Marys, and after retirement, she taught GED classes for six years at the Auglaize County Library. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and its adult choir and the Wapakoneta Women’s Club. She loved music, reading and playing the piano. She was a member of the BGSU Alumni and Northwest Ohio Tractor Pullers. She and Marion traveled to Hawaii yearly.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Steven Nelson and the Rev. Wayne Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
