Myrtle M. Dodds, 97

Myrtle M. Dodds, 97, formerly of Lakeview, passed away Friday, Dec.7, 2012, at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.

 She was born on May 22, 1915, in Richland Township, Logan County, to the late Edward A. and Mollie Ann McGre Tracey.

On Oct. 27, 1934, she married John O. Dodds in Kenton, and he preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Philip Dodds; and 10 siblings.

 She is survived by eight children, John (Jo) Dodds of St. Marys, Denzil (Kay) Dodds of Houston, Texas, Myron (Joan) Dodds of Lima, Michael (Carlotta) Dodds of Sidney, Patrick (Sharon) Dodds of Bellefontaine, David (Deanna) Dodds of Jackson Center, Aaron (Deanece) Dodds of Lakeview, and Molly Shroyer of Wapakoneta; 35 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.

 Myrtle was a 1934 graduate of Roundhead School. She was a member of Quest Community Church of the Nazarene in West Liberty. She was also a former member of the Jackson Center Church of the Nazarene and Indian Lake Northside Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed reading scripture, was a prayer warrior and devoted member to her church. She was a kind and selfless person who always cared and looked out for the well-being of others. She was the kind of person who made those who spoke to her feel special because of her intent and interest she showed to them. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren.

 The Rev. John E. Dodds will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Nazarene District Center, St. Marys.
