Myrtle DeLong, 103, of Wapakoneta, died at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at her son’s residence near Wapakoneta.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1908, to Jessie and Millie Shaw, and they preceded her in death.
On May 2, 1931, she married Harley DeLong, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1983.
She is survived by a son, Ned (JoAnn) DeLong of Wapakoneta; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, James DeLong and Donald DeLong; a daughter, MaryBeth Carpenter; a granddaughter; a daughter-in-law; a great-grandson.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Salem United Methodist Church in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Shawn Morris and the Rev. Greg Roberts officiating.
Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta, and one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Medical Center, to Salem United Methodist Church or to St. Rita’s Hospice.
