Murlin George Doseck, 78

Murlin George Doseck, 78, of Wapakoneta, died at 10:48 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

He was born on April 26, 1934, near Minster, the son of Christopher and Julianna (Behr) Doseck, and they preceded him in death.  

On July 23, 1960, he married Marilyn S. Debell, and she survives.

He is also survived by a daughter, Brenda K. (Tony) Zaborowicz of Wapakoneta; three grandchildren, Bryan (Kelly) Wheeler, Jessica (Jonathon) Lambert and Robert Wheeler; three great-grandchildren, Madison K. Wheeler, Azia K. and Noah W. Lambert; a son-in-law, Ed (Bonnie) Sparks of Marysville; his siblings, Sam (Henrietta) Doseck of Fort Loramie, Donald (Agnes) Doseck of Botkins, Dorothy (Gilbert) Braun of Sidney, Mary (David Edwards) Cartwright of Sidney, Wilbur (Linda) Doseck of Wapakoneta, Fred (Connie) Doseck of Clearwater, Fla., and Mike (Carla) Doseck of Botkins.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Marie Doseck Sparks; a brother, Robert Doseck.

Murlin retired in 1994 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys after 30 years of service.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in France.  

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. His other memberships included the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 691, Wapakoneta, and the Senior Citizen Center, Sidney. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, but most especially shooting pool.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8445.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta.
