Murle E. Green, 86, of Celina, died at 5:58 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at the Celina Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on May 13, 1925, in Mercer County, to Cassius Ford and Gertrude (Moore) Green, and they preceded him in death.

On Sept. 25, 1946, he married Berniece Braun, and she preceded him in death on March 10, 2009.

He is survived by three sons, Andrew (Peggy) Green of Celina, Joseph (Jan) Green of Wapakoneta and Donald (Denise) Green of Celina; two daughters, Pamela (John) Brown of Celina and Ann Margaret (Fred) Giesige of Celina; a sister-in-law, Anita Green of Wapakoneta; 31 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Green; five brothers, Paul Green, Wayne Green, Allen Green, Chester Green and Gene Green; a sister, Mary Catherine VonGries; one grandchild; one great-granchild.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Goodyear after 38.5 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kenneth C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina, with military rites.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Cisco Funeral Home in Celina. Memorial contributions may be made to the IC Endowment Fund. Online condolences may be expressed at Ciscofuneralhome.com.
