A pair of Roughrider golfers went low in a Western Buckeye League win. St. Marys’ Carter Bowman shot a 35 and Colin Burke had a 36 to lead the Roughriders to a 162-170 win over Elida on Monday night.
Trent Cutlip led Elida with a 39. Nate Cellar added a 40 for the Bulldogs. St. Marys hosts Van Wert on Thursday at 5 p.m.
PARKWAY 163, NEW BREMEN 166
The Parkway Panthers edged out the New Bremen boys golf team by three strokes in a Midwest Athletic Conference match at Arrowhead on Monday. New Bremen’s Alex Britton was medalist with a 35. Parkway’s Jordan Bollenbacker was low-man for the Panthers with a 36. New Bremen’s Travis Bertelsen shot a 39, Zach Hegemier added a 45 and Max Travis carded a 47. Jacob O’Neill and Markus Sachtler both shot 50s for the Cardinals. Parkway’s Brian Schatzer shot a 40, Jayden Lyons fired a 42 and Dusten Stukey had a 45. Connor Morton added a 49 and Cole Schoenleben had a 59. New Bremen will play Minster at Arrowhead on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Eliida swept all five positions in a Western Buckeye League victory over the St. Marys girls tennis team. Elida’s C’era Savage defeated St. Marys’ Anna Ernst at first singles, 6-2, 7-5. Meredith Little of Elida won seoncs singles over St. Marys’ Abby Wilker, 6-3, 6-1. Elida’s Hailey Hurst earned a 6-0, 6-4 win over the Roughriders’ Hannah Felver at third singles. Elida’s Ashley Fay and Elizabeth White teamed up to win first doubles against St. Marys’ Jennifer Lauth and Avarie Ellis, 6-0, 7-6. Elida second doubles team of Summer Slusher and Jacey Higbie defeated the Riders’ Bailey Rust and Jenna Perry, 6-4, 6-2.

Kaitlin Snider, Allie Zofkie, Rachel Roberts earned singles wins and the Wapak doubles teams of Kiersten Welloms and Chelsea Myers along with Carly Buzzard and Amanda Sims picked up victories in a 5-0 win over Bath.

Katie Gardner, Sasha Jenkins, Brooke Sutter and the doubles team of Maddy Cline and Nicole Elston all won for Celina in a 4-1 win over Defiance.

Indian Lake shut out the New Knoxville boys soccer team 6-0 on Monday night. Indian Lake had 20 shots on goal to New Knoxville’s eight. New Knoxville goalkeeper Dean Frankenberg had eight saves. New Knoxville gets back in action on Saturday at home against Fairlawn in a 10 a.m. match.

Ryan Hoyng scored Celina’s goal and the Bulldogs played to a 1-1 tie against Miller City.

Mackenzie Howell fired a medalist 45 to lead the Cardinals to a win over the Panthers in Midwest Athletic Conference play. The Cardinals’Sydney Holdren added a 47 and Rachel Parker fired a 50 in the win. Parkway’s Terra Walls shot a 46 to lead the Panthers. New Bremen hosts Waynesfield-Goshen on Tuesday.
MINSTER 185, MARION LOCAL 214
Claire Fischer shot a personal-best 38 to lead the Minster girls golf team to a 185-214 win over Marion Local. Marissa Conrad fired a 42, Abby Hausfeld shot a 47 and Sarah Huwer had a 58 for the Wildcats.
Minster is 4-2, 1-0 in the MAC.
NEW BREMEN 3, BOTKINS 1
BOTKINS — The New Bremen Cardinals volleyball team used big runs at key times to register their first victory of the year with a 25-13, 21-25, 25-17 and 25-16 victory over the Botkins Trojans Monday evening at Botkins. Julie Brown had nine kills four blocks and 14 digs for New Bremen. Victoria Wente had eight kills and 12 digs. Karli Jones added three aces, 30 assists and 11 digs. Devon Hietkamp had six kills and five blocks.
