Area sports action from Monday night:
NEW KNOXVILLE 3, LINCOLNVIEW 0: New Knoxville controlled action in a 25-14, 25-6, 25-18 win over the Lancers on Monday night in non-conference play. Meg Reineke led the way for the Rangers with 10 kills. Haley Horstman had seven kills. Sam Thobe added four kills. Kalyn Schroer had six aces, while Horstman, Reineke and Rachel Leffel had three aces apiece. Schroer led the way with 14 digs. Horstman had nine digs.
MINSTER 3, SPENCERVILLE 0: The Minster Wildcats served up 11 aces and had a balanced attack as they defeated the Spencerville Bearcats in three sets 25-17, 25-17 and 25-23 on Monday. Allison Jutte led Minster with eight kills. Megan Kaiser, Nicole Brandewie and Sara Hosey collected six kills apiece for the Wildcats. Minster (11-9) will travel to New Bremen tonight for a MAC contest.
MARION LOCAL 3, ANNA 1: Marion Local shook off a first-set loss to win the next three sets and earn a 17-25, 25-9, 26-24, 25-17, at Anna on Monday. Claire Heitkamp led the Flyers with 16 kills. Clara Wuebker had 10 kills. Gina Kramer added nine kills. Megan Wendel had 25 digs and Hannah Heitbrink added five blocks. Marion Local is 17-3.
FT. JENNINGS 3, ST. MARYS 0: The St. Marys girls soccer team’s six-game winning streak came to an end with a 3-0 loss at Fort Jennings on Monday. St. Marys drops to 11-2-1 on the season. Brandi Kaskel, Marissa Good and Kristen Maag scored goals for the Musketeers. Fort Jennings is 11-1-3 on the season. The Roughriders will host Shawnee on Thursday in a WBL closer. St. Marys hosts Greenville on Saturday at 2 p.m. before starting sectional play next Thursday, Oct. 18 against Van Wert at 5 p.m. at Celina.
CELINA 11, KENTON 0: Celina earned a runaway win against Kenton on Monday. Celina, which moved to 8-0 in the WBL, plays Bath tonight. St. Marys is 6-1-1 in league play and Bath is 5-0-3.
