Ottawa-Glandorf won a three-set first doubles match to tilt things the Titan way against St. Marys in a Western Buckeye League girls tennis match on Monday. O-G’s 3-2 win is its first in the league this season, while St. Marys dropped to 1-7 in the WBL with a home match against Kenton tonight left on the WBL slate.

St. Marys earned wins at third singles and second doubles and came up just a few points short of the win at first doubles. St. Marys’ Hanna Felver dominated at third singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over O-G’s  Lauren Schneeg. The Roughriders’ Jenna Perry and Bailey Rust beat Kristen Ellerbrock nd Erin Hageman of O-G 6-1, 7-5 for St. Marys’ other win.

O-G’s Haley Recker and Alyssa Schnipke won first doubles, 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 over St. Marys’ Jennifer Lauth and Avarie Ellis. O-G’s Amy Schmiedebusch defeated St. Marys’ Anna Ernst, 6-4, 6-2, at the first singles position. At second singles, Tiffany Kahle earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over St. Marys’ Abby Wilker.



ANNA — The Ranger volleyball team swept the Anna Rockets 25-20, 25-20 and 27-25 on Monday evening. Rachel Leffel led New Knoxville with five kills. Haley Horstman and Kenzie Schroer each had four kills. The Rangers (8-3) will travel to Parkway tonight for a MAC match.



The Minster girls golf team won their 10th of the season with a 191-210 win over the Parkway Panthers. Claire Fischer led the way with a 41. Marissa Conrad shot a 42. Abby Hausfeld carded a 45, and Lisa Borges added a 63. Minster travels to St. Henry on Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. match.


The Minster boys golf team had three players break 40 in a 154-163 win over the Parkway Panthers on Monday in a midwest Athletic Conference match, setting up a showdown with Versailles later this week.

John Burke fired a 36 to lead the Wildcats and tied with Parkway’s Brian Schatzer for medalist honors. Minster’s Austin Brackman shot a 37 and Fred Purdy had a 39. Matt Trushaw carded a 42. Parkway’s Jordan Bollenbacher had a 37, Austen Stukey shot a 43 and Hayden Lyons added a 47.

The Wildcats stay unbeaten in the MAC at 7-0 and set up a big match against 8-0 Versailles on Thursday at Arrowhead at 4:30 p.m.

New Knoxville golf

The New Knoxville boys golf team fell in a tri-match with Covington and Fort Loramie on Monday evening. David Boesche led New Knoxville with a 47. Brandon Steinke added a 48. Shane Topp shot a 50, and Nick Thobe  had a 52.
