UNION CITY — The Minster girls basketball team emptied the bench and spread 75 points between 13 different players in a 75-34 win over Mississinawa Valley on Monday night.
The Wildcats improved to 4-0. They will travel to St. Henry on Thursday for another Midwest Athletic Conference game.
Kayla Richard led Minster with 16 points, the lone Wildcat in double figures. Claire Fischer hit three 3-pointers for nine points, along with nine points from Logan Arnold and eight points from Lauren Roetgerman.
Minster shot 51 percent from the floor on 32 of 63 shooting and won the battle on the boards 30-13.
Mississinawa Valley’s Nicole Scholl led the Blackhawks with 16 points. Logan Nelson added 12 points.
NEW BREMEN 60, BOTKINS 33
BOTKINS — With an 11-4 start the New Bremen Lady Cardinals basketball team were able to run the floor and eventually defeat the Botkins Trojans 60-33 Monday evening in a non league game played at Botkins.
“Getting out to a fast start was one of the things we talked about,” Cardinals head coach Chris Burden said. “The last two road games we didn’t get off to very good starts, but especially on the road it is critical to get off to a good start and we did that tonight.”
The Cardinals had three players score in double figures in the game with Rosie Westerbeck scoring 20 points and had six rebounds. Alyse Clune and Janelle Elking each had 11 points in the game. Kayla Heuker was the lone Trojan in double figures with 10 points and four rebounds.
The Cardinals (3-2, 0-1) will entertain Parkway Thursday night beginning at 6:00 in the first of five straight home games, while the Trojans (1-4) will travel To Anna on Thursday.
