Miriam E. Engh, 94, a resident of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, and formerly of 1614 Brown’s Lake Drive, Burlington, Wis., died at 8:46 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Otterbein-St. Marys.
She was born on Aug. 8, 1917, in Westville, Okla., the daughter of Bert and Nevada (Sparks) Neel.
She married Raymond K. Engh on Jan. 6, 1945, in Tulsa, Okla., and he preceded her in death on July 20, 1996.
She is survived by her daughter, Annette Morris of Albuquerque, N.M.; her son, Kenneth (Ann) Engh of Spencerville; by four grandchildren, Chris Kirschner, Esther Rosenthal, Sarah Rosenthal and Lydia Engh; by a sister, Florence Stobber of East Troy, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Robert Neel; two sisters, Iva Nell Loveless and Bert Rose (Neel) Walton.
Miriam was a 1935 graduate of Westville High School in Westville, Okla. She was a clerical worker for many years at Northern Engineering Labs in Burlington, Wis.
She was a former member of the Cross Lutheran Church in Burlington, Wis., where she had taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed living at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, and she was a talented seamstress. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys.
Funeral rites will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Meyer Community Chapel on the campus of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, the Rev. Bill Maki officiant.
Private family burial rites will be held at Norway Hill Cemetery, Winn Lake, Wisconsin.
Friends may call one hour before services on Thursday at Otterbein-St. Marys.
