Minster's Ethan Wolf Second Team All-Ohio in D6

Minster’s big-play receivers earned All-Ohio recognition when the Division VI honors were announced by the Associated Press on Wednesday night.

Minster tight end Ethan Wolf was named Second Team All-Ohio. Wolf, who caught 41 passes for 475 yards and five touchdowns, is a 6-foot-5, 240-pound senior who signed with the University of Tennessee.

Eli Wolf, a 6-foot-4, 190 pound junior wide receiver, earned Special Mention honors. Wolf caught  48 passes for 907 yards and nine touchdowns — all team best numbers.

Chayce Crouch, a senior quarterback and punter at Newark Catholic and the son of former St. Marys Memorial standout athlete Troy Crouch, was named Second Team All-Ohio as a punter. Crouch has signed with the University of Illinois to play quarterback for the Illini.


Division VII

Marion Local linebacker Jacob Kunkler, a 6-foot-2 180-pound senior, was named Defensive Player of the Year in Division VII along with Trimble’s Jacob Koons. The Flyers and Trimble meet on Saturday night for the Division VII state title in Massillon.

Marion Local head coach Tim Goodwin earned the Coach of the Year honor along with Paul Kanzigg of Beallsville, Robert Mahaney of Ashland Mapleton. Goodwin has led Marion Local to an unbeaten season and a berth in the state championshipo game.

Marion Local senior offensive lineman Jason Brunswick and quarterback Adam Bertke were both named to the Second Team on offense. Bertke, who is headed to play college football at Pittsburgh, missed part of four games with an injury.

Flyer junior Peyton Kramer and junior defensive back Dustin Rethman were both Second Team All-Ohio.

Marion Local senior Troy Homan earned Third Team honors at wide receiver.
