Minster sweeps district track titles, Rangers and Cards move on

SPENCERVILLE — The Minster boys and girls track and field teams ran away from the field to sweep the Division III district titles at Spencerville on Saturday afternoon, while New Knoxville and New Bremen will be sending athletes to Piqua this week for the regional meet, as well.

The Minster girls scored 149 points, well clear of second-place Marion Local’s 109 points. New Knoxville finished fourth with 36 points.

The Minster boys scored 142 points, with second-place Lima Central Catholic collecting 97 point.

Minster’s Hannah Barga and Olivia Enneking both will compete in four events at the regional, and the Wildcats have four more athletes who are regional qualifiers in two events.

New Knoxville’s Andrew Mackie is headed to the regional in three events and missed out on a fourth by just one place in the 100 meter dash.

Minster’s Korey Schultz and Paul dues both advanced in three events.

The top four finishers in each event advance to this week’s regional meet at Piqua’s Alexander Stadium.
