Minster rolls in girls hoops opener

MINSTER — Minster center Tara Clune scored 19 points and the Wildcat girls basketball team had 11 players get into the scoring column in a 62-20 season-opening victory over Jackson Center on Saturday night.

Clune score all of her 19 points in the second and third quarters — including six baskets in the third to tally 12 of Minster’s 18 third-quarter points.

Minster held Jackson Center to four first-half points.

Minster’s Kayla Albers added 11 points and Sara Dahlinghaus had 10 points.

Brooke Richard led Jackson Center with 14 points.

Minster travels to Sidney Lehman Catholic on Saturday at noon.
