Mildred A. Botkin, 93, formerly of 1033 S. Wayne St., St. Marys, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Xenia, where she had resided for the past two years.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1918, in Rockford, the daughter of John and Frances (Witter) Alspaugh, and they preceded her in death.
On June 11, 1946, she married Charles Botkin, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 2010.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Rupert of Xenia; two grandchildren, Nick Rupert of Xenia and Greg Rupert of Dayton; three grandchildren, Alana, Ashley and Andrew.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Alspaugh and Ruth Buchanan.
Mildred was a graduate of Rockford High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church in St. Marys. She enjoyed traveling and going to Broadway shows and theater productions. She was a charter member of the Precious Moments Collectors’ Club.
Funeral rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., St. Marys, the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Hospice of the Miami Valley. Condolences may be sent to the family via MillerFuneralHomes.net.
