Merlyn W. Ashbrook, 56, of Sidney, died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center.

He was born on April 25, 1956, in Troy, to Loyd and Lorain (Rodewald) Ashbrook, and they preceded him in death.

He is survived by four siblings; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.  Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

At Merlyn’s request his body will be cremated and his family will hold a private service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Wilson Hospice.
