Melba P. Lowery, 92

Melba P. Lowery, 92, of St. Marys, died at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Auglaize Acres.  

She was born on Sept. 30, 1921, in St. Marys, the daughter of Alva and Mary (Long) Burd, who preceded her in death.  

She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Dorsten, Robert Hecht, and Charles B. Lowery.

Survivors include three sons, James Dorsten of Piqua, Ronald (Mildred) Dorsten of Wapakoneta and Daniel “Lee” (Jean) Dorsten of St. Marys, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Melba retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys, after 25 years of service. She attended the Buckland United Church of Christ. Her hobbies included fishing, crocheting, and solving word puzzles.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, State Route 501, Wapakoneta, the Rev. Adrian Sunday officiating.  

Burial is to follow in the ElmGrove Cemetery, St. Marys.  

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
