McGaharan to be named New Bremen head football coach

April 5, 2012

NEW BREMEN — Jason McGaharan will be introduced as the next head football coach at New Bremen High School next week.

McGaharan, an assistant coach at Sidney High School, will be announced as the varsity football coach Wednesday, April 11 at a 6 p.m. press conference in the school's auditorium, New Bremen athletic director Gary Jones said yesterday in a release.

McGaharan served as offensive coordinator for the Yellow Jackets last season under head coach Adam Doenges and previously under Dan Cairns.

McGaharan graduated from Northwood High School, a suburban Toledo school. McGaharan was a standout running back for the Rangers as a senior after having to sit out three seasons with a multi-year battle with illness. He graduated from Bowling Green State University.

He will replace Rob Messick, who resigned as coach during the winter.
