Mary M. Simon, 92, of Versailles, passed away at 5:16 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012.
She was born on Feb. 13, 1920, in Piqua, to Louis and Zelma (Francis) Peltier, and they preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Dave (Becky) Simon of Greenville, John (Mary Ann) Simon of Bradford, Bill (Elizabeth) Simon of Lexington, Ky., Tom (Wilma) Simon of New Bremen, Tim (Peg) Simon of Houston, Ed (Erm) Simon of Sparks, Nev., Jerry Simon of Piqua, Jane (Gery) Monnin of Troy, Susan (Lowell) Wolaver of Fort Loramie and Steve Simon of Russia; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Virden of Versailles; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Simon; four brothers, Louis “Frenchy” Peltier, Joseph “Joe” Peltier, Homer Peltier and Ralph Peltier.
Mary was a devoted wife and mother and was a member of the St. Denis Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles, with the Rev. David Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Remy Catholic Church Cemetery in Russia.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles.
It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to the donor’s choice.
