Mary M. Poppe, 89, of 1807 Kingsbury Drive in St. Marys, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on April 6, 1924, in St. Marys, to Charles and Sylvia (Grunden) Eberle.

Survivors include a    daughter, Linda Sue (Robert Schumacher) Poppe of St. Marys; a brother, C. Albert (Arlene) Eberle  of St. Marys; a sister, Patricia Burden  of Lima; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sylvia Eberle, brother Franklin Eberle, who died in World War II, and sister Vivian Glass.

She was a 1942 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. She was a homemaker and retired production employee from Crown Equipment Corporation in New Bremen.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and its women’s guild. Her favorite pastimes included reading and solving word-search puzzles.

Rites are scheduled to begin 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys, the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray, officiating.

Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
