Mary Louise Von Aschen, 100

Mary Louise Von Aschen, 100, of Piqua, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at the Piqua Manor Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 2, 1912, in Piqua to the late Forrest and Gertrude (Neighamer) Kerns.

Survivors include a granddaughter Carolyn (Dan) Garrison  of St. Marys, and several great-grandchildren.

She worked at the former Atlas Underwear Company, Stanton’s Bakery and as a private housekeeper until she decided to retire on Dec. 8, 2003.

She was an active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, where she was a participated in Sigma Circle, Heritage Festival Committee and Annual Steak Suppers.

She enjoyed reading, following the Cincinnati Reds, and playing cards and bingo.

Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home in Piqua with the Rev. Dr. Keith Gebhart officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
