Mary Kathryn Howe, 92, of Wapakoneta, died at 6 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Cridersville Healthcare Center.
She was born on Feb. 23, 1920, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Clarence and Marie (Emerick) Weber.
On March 1, 1944, she married Frederick W. Howe, and he died on Jan. 15, 2013.
Surviving is a daughter, Ann (Michael) Loy of Botkins; a son, Dan Howe of Wapakoneta; a grandson, Ryan (Krystal) Loy of Wapakoneta; and two great–grandchildren, Madison and Noah Loy, also of Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Paul Weber; and a sister, Clara Ott.
Mary was a graduate of Blume High School. During the years of World War II, she worked for N.C.R., Dayton. Later she was employed at Centennial School, Wapakoneta, in the school’s cafeteria and retired in 1982 from the Bohrerand Moore Meat Packing Co. after 18 years of employment. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta, where she had taught Sunday school for several years. She enjoyed working in her yard and vegetable garden as well as cooking.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta, the Rev. Jeff Davis, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ.
