Mary Carolyn McKinley, 93

Mary Carolyn McKinley, 93, formerly of rural Spencerville, died at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Hill View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Platte City, Mo.

She was born on Jan 2, 1919, in Logan Township, to Philip and Effie Peterson Grassley, and they preceded her in death.

On June 26, 1937, she married William Olin “Bill” McKinley, and he preceded her in death on July 30, 1989.

She is survived by a son, Philip M. (Mary Kay) McKinley of Platte City, Mo.; a daughter, Kathleen (Thomas) Hennon of Spencerville; a daughter-in-law; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Larry L. McKinley.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with the Rev. Vince Lavieri officiating.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where Order of Eastern Star services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
