Mary C. Rohrbaugh, 94

Mary C. Rohrbaugh, 94, of Wapakoneta, died at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Wapakoneta Manor.  

She was born on Nov. 15, 1919, in Moulton, the daughter of Edward H. and Caroline M. (Fledderjohann) Arnett, who preceded her in death.  

On June 19, 1946, she married James E. Rohrbaugh, and he died on Sept. 25, 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Edward J. (Rebecca) Rohrbaugh and David J. Rohrbaugh, both of Wapakoneta, two grandsons, Aaron and Adam Rohrbaugh, a sister, Mildred (Stanley) Jones of Wapakoneta and a sister-in-law, Janis Rohrbaugh of Wapakoneta.

She was preceded in death by a sister and brothers, Viola (Marvin) Roettger, Alfred (Ruth) Arnett, and Frederick (Marie) Arnett, and a brother-in-law, Malcolm (Elma) Rohrbaugh.

A homemaker, Mary worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys. She was a lifetime member of First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville and its Women’s Guild. She was also an active member of the church choir and the Community Singers in New Knoxville.  

Mary was a very devout Christian and loved the Lord dearly. To her, every day was Christmas. She constantly sang her hymns of praise.

She was a devoted loving wife and a wonderful mother and grandmother, patiently and lovingly helping all of her family any way possible.

Mary now resides in peace and love with her God, The Father and Jesus Christ, and those she loved who have passed on.  

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, the Rev. Dr. David Williams officiating.  Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.  

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta, and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the First United Church of Christ Radio Fund.
