Mary Ann Caldwell, 81

Mary Ann Caldwell, 81, of 12797 State Route 29, St. Marys, died at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

She was born on Jan. 23, 1932, in Mercer County, the daughter of Michael and Antoinette (Feipel) Minch.

She married Robert Caldwell on Oct. 9, 1955, and he survives at the residence.

She is survived by her three children, Bill Caldwell of St. Marys; Sharon Anderson of Wichita, Kansas; and Brenda (Bryan) Ridings of Wapakoneta. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Nikki Fannon Shaner, Belinda Coffey, Jessie (Mollie) Fannon, Tia Caldwell, Wade Caldwell and Geoff Anderson, by four great-grandchildren, Larz (Kaila) Weber, LaFern Shaner, Malachi Shaner and Skylar Shaner, one great-great-grandchild, Larz Weber Jr.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marvel Thomas of St. Marys; sisters-in-law Patricia Minch of Florence, Ala.; Emily Minch of Celina and Wahneta Minch of Celina; a brother-in-law, Walter (Shirley) Caldwell of Pennsylvania. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Clara Minch and Helen Steele; by five brothers, Harold, Walter, Rudolph, Clarence “Jack” and Lewis Minch and by her daughter, Debra Fannon.

Mary Ann was a Coldwater High School graduate. She was a military wife for many years and she retired from Huffy Manufacturing. She later worked at the St. Marys Living Center. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, traveling and fishing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member and past president of VFW Post 9289 Auxiliary.

Funeral rites will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray, officiant.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to either the Auglaize County Humane Society or to VFW Post 9289 Auxiliary.
