Mark Joseph Martensen, 57

Mark Joseph Martensen, 57, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 3, 1954, in Columbus, to Hank Martensen and Joan Martensen, and his father preceded him in death. His mother survives him.
On Aug. 24, 2002, he married Lori, formerly of St. Marys, and she survives.
He is also survived by his daughters, Lisa Martensen and Kelly (Jeremy) Luck; his granddaughters, Madison and Aubrey; his brothers, Drew (Linda), Hank (Pam) and Bradley (Kathy) Martensen; a sister, Cynthia Aiello; his parents-in-law, Tom and Joyce Scott; his siblings-in-law, Greg, Jeff (Christi) and Mark (Erin) Scott and Lisa (Andrew) Roettger; numerous nieces and nephews; many wonderful friends, especially Steve Richards, who was like a brother to Mark.
Mark graduated from Bishop Ready High School. He attended The Ohio State University, and he worked for the Kroger Distribution Center for 35 years. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
He loved physical activities, especially golf, jogging and biking. He was a great cook and an avid reader, and he loved to travel and spend time at his trailer in St. Marys. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at noon Tuesday at St. Pius X, 1051 Waggoner Road, Reynoldsburg, with the Rev. David Funk officiating.
Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mark’s name to Columbus Metro Parks, 1069 W. Main St., Westerville, Ohio, 43081, or to Zusman Hospice, 1151 College Ave., Columbus, Ohio, 43209.
