Marion Local atop D4 boys AP Poll

The Marion Local Flyers took home the small-school football championship in the fall. Associated Press voters see Marion Local as the early favorite to take the state title in Division IV boys basketball, too.

Marion Local debuted at No. 1 in the first AP Poll that was released on Monday. The Flyers garnered 11 first-place votes to take the top spot with 144 points – easily outdistancing second-place Crestview (7-0).

Defiance is ranked fourth in Division II with its 7-1 record, receiving one first-place vote.

Lima Central Catholic is ranked third with two first-place votes in Division III, as the T-Birds are off to an 8-0 start. Versailles (8-0)  is ranked fourth in D3 with one first-place votes. Ottawa-Glandorf checks in at 14th in Division III.
