Marilyn A. Sheets, 73, of 235 Pershing Drive, St. Marys, died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at her residence.

She was born on March 1, 1939, in Ohio City, to Albert “Buck” and Matra (Wilson) Davis, and they preceded her in death.

On Nov. 15, 1965, in Sidney, she married Rex Sheets, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2002.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (James) Fast of St. Marys; a grandson, Joseph (Nicole) Roberts of St. Marys; two great-granddaughters, Elyssa and Kelsey Roberts; three stepgrandchildren, Tom Fast, Tim (Danene) Fast and Tara Fast, all of Columbus; three great-stepgrandchildren, Sebastian and Andrew Fast and Jane Gomez; a sister, Janet Beougher of St. Marys; a brother, Ray (Linda) Davis of Mendon.

She worked at Koch’s Restaurant in downtown St. Marys for many years. She also worked as a bartender for private parties and social functions in the area.

She had been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, American Legion Post 323 and Eagles Lodge Aerie 767 auxiliaries, all in St. Marys, and the Moose Lodge in Celina.

She dearly enjoyed helping others and devoted much of her time to volunteering her time to the American Legion, bingo at St. Marys Living Center and Agape Ministries in St. Marys.

Her other pastimes included flower gardening and working in her yard.

Rites are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel), St. Marys, with the Rev. Josh Andrews officiating.

Private family burial will take place at Neptune Cemetery in Neptune.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cancer Association of Auglaize County.
