Marcia M. Walls, 79
Marcia M. Walls, 79, of Wapakoneta, died at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Auglaize Acres.
She was born on May 14, 1934, in Shelby County, the daughter of Carl and Mary (Rinehart) Rickert, who preceded her in death.
On Oct. 18, 1953, she married George J. Walls, and he died on Nov. 22, 2005.
Survivors include, three sons, David (Ginny) Walls of Cincinnati, Jim (Kelly Schattschneider) Walls of Wapakoneta, Gary (Deb) Walls of Wapakoneta, four grandchildren, Christina (Steven) Smith, Nancy (Tyler) Copeland, Emily Walls and fiancée John Williams, and Courtney Walls, a great-grandson, Mason Smith, two brothers, Paul Rickert and Tom (Evelyn) Rickert, both of Wapakoneta, a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leroy (Beverly) Walls of Orient, and Janet Steinke of Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Violet Walls, by a daughter-in-law, Kim Snyder Walls, a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia (Tony) Mulholland, an infant sister, Helen Louise, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Norma Rickert, Martha (Wilbur “Curly”) Hardeman, Donna McCartney, Evelyn (John) Wehner, Kathy (Larry) Whitaker, Doris (Donald) McClintock and infant Billy Walls.
Marcia had worked at Fisher Cheese Co., H and R Block, and as secretary at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church all of Wapakoneta. A 1952 graduate of Blume High School, she was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta. Her hobbies included bowling, ballroom dancing, knitting, cooking, crocheting, and reading.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Parmie Herman and the staff at Auglaize Acres for the wonderful care they provided to Marcia.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, the Rev. Mark Bauer officiating.
Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, State Route 501, Wapakoneta, and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church.
