M. Parker McGlothen, 74, of 706 S. Main St., St. Marys, died at 12:48 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1937, in Martin, Ky., the son of Morton and Edythe (Hagans) McGlothen, and they preceded him in death.
On Oct. 6, 1956, he married Vivian Bevans, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 1981. On April 11, 2003, he married Ruth Snyder, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his three daughters, Debra Ann (Brice) Gyurisko of Orlando, Fla., Sandra Kay (Rowdey) Borges of Wapakoneta and Rebecca Sue McGlothen of Wapakoneta; three stepchildren, Brad Snyder of Toledo, Scott Snyder of St. Marys and T. J. (Ammy) Snyder of St. Marys; his siblings, Dale (Elsie) McGlothen of St. Marys, Jim (Val) McGlothen of Portage, Ind., and Jerry (Roberta) McGlothen of St. Marys; a brother-in-law, Ken Lutz of St. Marys; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gale Lutz; a stepdaughter, Nan Snyder Dickrede.
Parker was a 1954 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 41.5 years of service.
He was a life member of Eagles Lodge 767 in St. Marys. He loved music, especially the blues, and was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the St. Marys Roughriders and the Kentucky Wildcats.
Funeral rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys. Parker’s son-in-law, Brice Gyurisko, will officiate the funeral rites. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
