M. Marjorie Martin, 86

M. Marjorie Martin, 86, of 14256 River Road, St. Marys, died at 12:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.

She was born on Dec. 11, 1924, in St. Marys, to Merrill “Bill” and Ruth (Smith) Miller, and they preceded her in death.

She is survived by six  grandchildren, Marie (David) Braun of Celina, John (Lori) Martin of St. Marys, Trisha Auer of Lima, Lorra (Lonnie) Prater of Ansonia, Justin Martin of St. Marys and Katrina Martin of St. Marys; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, John Martin and Larry Martin; two daughters, Sheryl Perry and Connie Martin; two brothers, Thomas Miller and James Miller; a long-time companion, Wilbur Dohse.

She was a 1942 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys. She was a homemaker and retired production employee for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys.

Her favorite pastimes included playing cards (especially euchre), solving crossword puzzles and dining out with her family and friends.

Funeral rites are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, 210 N. Wayne St., St. Marys, with the Rev. Bill Maki officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Tuesday at the Miller – Long and Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys.
