Louis W. Hartings, 91, formerly of State Route 119, Minster, died at 3:45 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Elmwood of New Bremen, where he had been a resident for 1 1/2 years.
He was born on March 4, 1921, in Chickasaw, to Albert and Anna (Homan) Hartings and was married on Nov. 22, 1945, in Minster, to Irene Meyer; she died on July 15, 2006.
He is survived by one brother; two sisters.
He was preceded in death by a brother and his wife; a sister in-law; a brother in-law.
Louis served in the Army during World War II in Europe.
Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the Minster Firing Squad.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Church with the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
Memorials may be made to the Minster Area Life Squad and to Grand Lake Hospice.
