Lorraine E. Nolte, 89, of St. Marys, died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born on Aug. 27, 1924, in St. Marys, the daughter of the late Joseph “Quince” and Leona (Caldwell) Alspach.
On Jan. 1, 1944, she married Donald E. Nolte, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 24, 1986.
Surviving are three grandsons, Jay Nolte of Centerville, Craig and Lauren Nolte of Shawnee and Tim and Luda Nolte of St. Marys, three great-granddaughters and a daughter-in-law, Kay Nolte of Wapakoneta.
Also preceding her in death were her sons, Stanley Nolte and Thomas Nolte, a grandson Todd Nolte and her siblings, Alma Burklo and Herman “Jake” Alspach.
Lorraine was a member of St. Peter’s Church in New Bremen, where she was involved in the lay-life and work of the church, as well as the Women’s Fellowship. She was a member of the New Bremen Senior Citizens, where she enjoyed bowling and their various outings. She enjoyed spending time with her family, neighbors, and friends. In 1986, she retired from Crown Equipment Corporation in New Bremen where she had worked for 23 years.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, the Rev. Charles Richtmyer officiating.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens outside of St. Marys.
Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home.
