Lock One Set for Christmas Program

December 2, 2011

NEW BREMEN — Performers from around the area are inviting residents to come see their show on Sunday as a way to get into the holiday spirit.

Lock One Community Arts is performing “Christmas in the Village” on Sunday at the James F. Dicke Auditorium at New Bremen High School.

“Performances are at 2 p.m. and at 7 p.m. Sunday,” said Christy Shell with Lock One Community Arts. “Tickets are available at the door, and you can also get them at True Value Hardware.”

Tickets can also be reserved by calling 419-733-0252 to reserve them ahead of time.

“Usually Lock One brings in performers from all around the country,” Shell said. “This one includes all local performers.”

The actors, she noted, come from all areas of the region.

“It showcases the local talent we have in this area, and we’ve brought them together to create a play for the community,” Shell said. “We have people from St. Marys, from Minster, from New Bremen, from Anna.”

“Christmas in the Village,” she noted, is similar to a variety show.

“It’s like an old-time variety show with a touching Christmas spirit,” Shell said.

She noted “Christmas in the Village” is a way for people to prepare for the holidays.

“I think it gets them in the Christmas mood, between the Christmas carols and the lessons of what Christmas is all about,” Shell said.

She noted it will be a family friendly event.

“It’s definitely a thing people can bring their families to and get in the Christmas spirit,” she said.
