Local volleyball players named All-District 8

Area players dotted the  recently released all-district volleyball teams from District 8.

Divisions I, II and III

St. Marys senior Jenny Brown and Rider senior Cierra Anderson were both named First Team All-District 8.

The Roughrider duo joins Celina’s Angie Fisher, Findlay’s Kayce Krucki, LCC’s Madison George, Celina’s Lizz Carr, LCC’s Tylyn Taylor, Coldwater’s Macy Reigelsperger, Findlay’s Allison Twiining, Elida’s Katrina Meeks and O-G’s Kelley Selhorst on the first-team list.

Krucki of Findlay was named Player of the Year in Division I, Celina’s Fisher was Player of the Year in Division II and LCC’s George was Player of the Year in Division III.

Celina’s Carolyn Dammeyer was named Coach of the Year.

Jenny Brown, Anderson and St. Marys senior Joni Brown were also selected to play in the All-Star Match for the West team on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at Pandora-Gilboa High School at 7 p.m.

St. Marys coach Tricia Rosenbeck and Celina’s Dammeyer will coach the West squad.

Division IV

Minster senior Dana Stucke and New Knoxville senior Haley Dillon were named Second Team All-District in Division IV.

St. Henry’s Katie Hoyng was named Player of the Year in the west.

Marion Local’s Margaret Wuebker, a senior, and Claire Heitkamp, a junior, were both named First Team All-District. Parkway senior Bailey King joined them as MAC players on the list.

Marion Local’s Josie Winnner, a junior, was named to the second team.

Spencerville’s Taylor Elchert waas named honorable mention, as was Waynesfield-Goshen’s Bailey Collins.

Marion Local’s Wuebker and Laura Schwieterman, New Knoxville’s Dillon, Minster’s Stucke and Parkway’s King will all compete for the West team in the All-Star match on Nov. 16 at Pandora-Gilboa High School at 7 p.m.
