Lloyd L. “Bud” Mathwig Jr., 67, of Lima, died at 6:17 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at his residence.

He was born on Oct. 7, 1944, in Caliente, Nev., to Lloyd L. “Matt” Sr. and Rose (Smith) Mathwig, who preceded him in death.

On May 20, 2003, he married his high school sweetheart and soulmate Dona Custer in Gatlinburg, Tenn., after a 26-year separation. She survives in Lima.

Survivors include four daughters, Teresa (Dwayne) Decker of Spencerville, Donna (Tom) Medley of Haines City, Fla., Tonya Pride of Cairo, and Crystal (Nate Fuerst) Michael of Lima; one son, Jeffrey Mathwig of Columbus; a sister; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and his ex-wife Linda who survives in Cairo; stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy and David Mathwig; his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Mary Custer; his stepmother, Hope Mathwig.

Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Schlosser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
