Linus A. “Linie” Hausfeld, 86

Linus A. “Linie” Hausfeld, 86, of 193 S. Lincoln St., Minster, died on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Elmwood Assisted Living Center in New Bremen. 

He was born on April 24, 1926, to Aloys and Philomena (Hoying) Hausfeld, and they preceded him in death.

On Dec. 27, 1951, in Osgood, he married Rose Marie Kremer, and she survives at Elmwood in New Bremen. 

He is also survived by two sons, Douglas (Elaine) Hausfeld of Minster and Bradley (Christine) Hausfeld of Springboro; a daughter-in-law, Lori Hausfeld of Springboro; his grandchildren, John Hausfeld, Kim and Zach Wiford, David Hausfeld, Jaclynn and Joe Krella, Jared and Emily Hausfeld, Ali Hausfeld and Matt Wolfe; his great-grandchildren, Luke and Abby Krella, Megan Wiford and Ryan Hausfeld; a brother, Neal (Maxine) Hausfeld of Vandalia, his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alice Suttman of Dayton, Howard (Laverta) Kremer of Troy, Janice Meyer of Hudson and Pat Kremer of Dayton.

He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas H.; a granddaughter Kacie Hausfeld; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gladys and Jack Troupe; three brothers-in-law, Don Kremer, Robert Suttman and Ron Meyer.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a church usher and founder of Hausfeld Motor Sales in 1947. He was a former chief and member of Minster/Jackson Township Fire Department, past president of the Ohio Fire Chief’s Association, International Fire Chief’s Association, Shelby County Firefighter of the year in 1981, Minster Civic Association Citizen of the Year 1978 and a member of Minster F.O.E. 1391.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
