Lester Young, 74

Lester Young, 74, of Celina, died at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.

He was born on May 11, 1938, in Jennings County, Ind., to Ernest Young and Mable Simmons, and they preceded him in death.

On Dec. 29, 1988, he married Norma Combs, and she survives.

He is also survived by a son, Thomas Leighty of Savanna, Ga.; a daughter, Melissa (Bob) Lacey of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother; two sisters; two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina.
