Leonard T. Browning, 87, formerly of Harrison, died at 3:47 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Otterbein - St. Marys.

He was born on Nov. 20, 1924, in Woodbine, Ky., to Andrew J. and Grace A. (Decker) Browning, and they preceded him in death.

On May 10, 1947, he married Lois B. Burch, and she preceded him in death on March 18, 2008.

He is survived by two daughters, Sister Lynn Julian, CT, of Convent of the Transfiguration in Cincinnati and Wanda (Daryl) Dammeyer of New Bremen; a granddaughter, Miriam (Laura Virella) Browning – Nance of New York, N.Y.; two brothers, Bill Browning of Woodbine, Ky., and Jerry Lawson of Portageville, N.Y.; a close family friend, Mary Rae Ward of Cincinnati.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Browning, Albert Browning, Willard Browning and Julice Browning; a sister, Marie Richmond.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served as a corporal in the 557th Bombardment Squadron in France during World War II.

He retired as supervisor of refinery maintenance for Chevron Corp. in Cincinnati.

His favorite pastimes included fishing and tinkering on anything with a gasoline engine.

Rites are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday at Meyer Community Chapel of Otterbein - St. Marys, with the Rev. Dean Greenwood officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour before services on Friday at Otterbein - St. Marys.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasville, Ky.
