Leo R. Buchler, 86, of 8846 North St., Kettlersville, died at 1:40 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on June 6, 1927, in McCartyville, to parents Raymond and Dora (Meyer) Buehler, who preceded him in death.

He was married on Sept. 4, 1954, in Minster, to Mary L. Bernard, who preceded him in death on Nov. 27, 2006.

He is survived by his children, Phil and Joan Buehler of Kettlersville; Jeff and Jill Buehler of St. Henry; Steve and Alejandra Buehler of Omaha, Neb.; Joanie and Mike Prueter of Kettlersville, Teresa and Ben Harshbarger of Botkins; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters; a broth‑er; a sister-in-law; and a brother-in-law.

One infant son, Joseph Buehler, preceded him in death, along with two brothers and two brothers-in-law.

He was a veteran of World War II, and the Korean War, having served in the Navy, the Anna American Legion and was the youngest legion commander in the nation at that time.

He will receive full military honors at the graveside.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church, the Rev. John Tonkin, officiant.

Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Of Jesus Church.
