Lawrence A. “Dick” Luebke, 87

Lawrence A. “Dick” Luebke, 87, of Minster, died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, after a week at Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster. 

He was born on Jan. 18, 1925, in Maria Stein, to the late Fred and Helen (Walterbusch) Luebke. 

He married Rosalee E. Schemmel on Aug. 10, 1946, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church.  She preceded him in death on Aug. 23, 2007. 

He is survived by children Jim and Diane Boerger of Westlake, Nancy and Joe Bruns of Minster, Dan Luebke of New Bremen, Sandy and Larry Hoying of Minster, Brenda and Craig Sherman of Minster, Elaine and Roy Brown of Minster, Larry and Jenny Luebke of Minster, Bruce and Ann Luebke of Celina; 27 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters two sisters; two brothers-in-law;  three sisters-in-law. 

He was preceded in death by son David Luebke; a daughter-in-law; a granddaughter; three brothers; two sisters.

He was a veteran of the US Navy during World War II.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding, celebrant.

Burial will take place with full military honors at St. Augustine Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Memorials may be made to Minster Firing Squad.
